Exceptional Concert + Great Recording
Great recording of an awesome concert. Each song portrays what you would imagine a psychedelic guitar circus would look like. Highly recommend.

Time to give the drummer some
FYI, the drummer's name is John Hanes, who also played in the Henry Kaiser Band (among many others).

lose the FM synthesis keyboards..
This is a good turnout, well worth listening..but those FM synthesis keyboard sounds, stink of 80's flow over. IT's way up in the mix too, very hard edge , no softening of it..Just BLAM, floating there. Those keyboard sounds have their place, just not on the forefront of a psychedelic jam! That's the only detractor of this performance for me. I prefer the analogue synth sounds..they are easier on the soul, and meld better with a live band. The sounds themselves sound like the bloody presets of my Yamaha DX series keyboard too!! LIke, they just took it outta the box and hit the "space bells" preset or something??? Amazing guitarists and cause.

3 of the most Pychedlic Men all together for Jer's BDay
Henry Kaiser - Electric Guitar
Steve Kimock - Electric Guitar
Harvey Mandel - Electric Guitar
Freddy Roulette - Electric Lap Steel Guitar, Vocals
Bob Bralove - Keys
Bobby Vega - Bass
John Haynes - Drums
now on Jerry's BDay at the GAMH it doesn't get much better than this, so much talent in the band's 3 shows available on http://db.etree.org from this bunch of Master Guitarists, not to mention Bobzilla Vega is laying down the Fender Bass-lines all night without hesitation. I wish this band had more than the short 3 shows in 1993 that could've wowed crowds from years to come. So much talent, combined & seperate, there are 2 of these shows outta the 3 listed on db.etree.org are lucky for us. They waist no time getting to the Jer BDay special of a "Dark Star" opener, just to sweeten things up for the rest o the night. Wow grab these 2 outta the 3, as someone said 2 outta 3 ain't bad, especially these shows. Highly recommended, don't think, just click. If you need to witness the mp3 stream to get the feel before the Download, do test the waters, all signs point to dosed Holy Water. Yes, you read that correct. Bangup job from the taper and the transfer combo. Thanks for excellent documentation of 2 of the 3 killer shows from 3 guitar geniuses. Look for Henry Kaiser to show up playing in the early days of Ratdog, Steve Kimock-Zero, KVHW, Alan Hertz Marijuana Jazz Band, SKB, SK&Fs,Steve Kimock & Banana, SteveKimockElectircBand 10.31.2002 Chester's Place & 3 killer Acoustic shows, 2 with Banana, one with Pete Sears. The dates on the 3 of Acoustic Kimock shows, are as follows 10.30.2002 (Chester's Place-Fayetteville,AR) SKimock & Pete Sears(on either the Accordian or the Baby Grand Piano) 11.24.2002 to match Kimock's Acoustic guitars, lapsteels & other items, also at Chester's Place in Fayetteville,AR & The finale back home in the Golden State with Banana & SK Acoustic on 7/1/2003. Check all those one's out if you know what's good for you. The SKEB does NOT disappoint either, but what Fayetteville show does?

I thought Blues For Sun Ra was excellent,
but I didn't care for Dark Star at all,
nor Jumpin at the Shadows.
DECENT SOUND, though

One of the best
One of the best things I've heard on the archive- period. Virtuoso guitar work here people. Undeniably original sound. And the quality is near perfect- 5 stars for talent/line-up 5 stars for quality 5 stars for performance

Great stuff!
I was curious about this band due to the name. Once I saw who was in it I immediatly began the downlaod sound unheard. I am very happy I did. Excellent playing and great sound quality.
Being an older Dark star fan I am somewhat hesitant about anyone but early 70's Dead playing it. This is a very nice version and I was not dissapointed.
Simply great guitar playing. Simply great. It is easy to see whay Jerry liked Kimock and Kaiser so much.

Good Find; Nice Download
I didn't really know who these guys were before hand, but their name made me curious and I had to check them out. I'm not here to rant and rave about the band because this supposed to be about the show, but hey they sound like a lot of fun and this is a great download. Needless to say, I'm impressed. (The recording is great too by the way.)

it's henry, kids
Sounds pretty crisp to me, and it's Henry Kaiser with Kimock...see the list below. I've never been disappointed with Kaiser. The set begins with Dark Star, but believe me, this is no cheesy Dead cover band.

This one will suprise you...
This previously uncirculated recording was worked on with a considerable about of passion to get it here.. I believe it turned out very good and I think folks should give this all-star cast a listen!
